"Steve Rude's sketchbooks gives the viewer insight to one of the great comic artist. You see his humor and his influences as he presents commissioned sketches he did the preceding year. Rude is known for Nexus and the supportinting characters. But also revived Space Ghost channeling the late Alex Toth. In some sketches he reverts to mimicking his influences like Toth or Jack Kirby but it is still Rude shining through. Highly recommend any if the sketchbooks although I'm partial to the 2009 pastel cover sketchbook."
