Journeymen Test

To everyone wanting involvement with the animated Nexus,

We've been getting many excellent submissions to become part of the Nexus team.  So, watch out, here comes the form letter part.  I'll try and make it as personal as possible and also be very specific as to what I'll need from you.

Yes, anyone can apply for these positions, not just animators and background painters, but voice and music talent as well.  All are going to be necessary to complete the final product, so send what you've got.    

ANIMATORS AND LAYOUTS CREWS

See the 4 models sheets listed below? This is where the drawing test comes in.  These are the important ones of the 2 main characters, so submit as many drawings as you'd like, because that's where I'm going to be the most critical.  Remember you're all competing against each other, and I can only hire the very best for a series trying to equal the feats of the original Jonny Quest show.  Look them up online and you’ll see what I mean. Those with the best submissions will eventually be personally contacted.

B.G. PAINTERS

I need to see your traditional skills here.  No computer, so take out your brushes and paint from the closet and let's see what you got.  Preference should be either gouache or acrylic.  You can see from the sample I myself did to see what I’m looking for.  In this case, your test will be attempting to duplicate a typical background from the Jonny Quest show.  You in-the-know types can probably identify the episode it's from.

MUSIC AND VOICE TALENT 

Everyone knows the importance of music, voice talent, and sound effects in making a show truly memorable.   Anyone that can mimic the various incidental characters from the classic H-B shows, like Jonny Quest or Space Ghost, the happier I’ll be.

For you music maestros, this is the big one that only the best should apply for.  My preferences range from the original Star Trek, the blazing up-tempos from Hoyt Curtain's Jonny Quest themes, and the unsettling music of Dom Fronterie (Outer limits/The Invaders). Beyond that, just be yourself and have fun.
