To everyone wanting involvement with the animated Nexus,

We've been getting many excellent submissions to become part of the Nexus team.  With so many submissions, read on to see what I'm going to need from you.

Yes, anyone can apply for these positions, not just animators and background painters, but voice and music talent as well.  All are going to be necessary to complete the final product, so send what you've got.   

Animators, directors, background painters, layout supervisors, and sheet timers welcome. Superior drawing skills mandatory.

You can also see some of the several hundred layouts I've already done in prep for the eventual series and updates at the bottom of the page.

Staff will be kept small and composed of the best. Salary open to negotiation.

ANIMATORS AND LAYOUTS CREWS

This is where the drawing test comes in.  You'll find a link below for a total of 4 model sheets of the main characters.  Submit as many drawings as you'd like, because that's going to tell me if you have the talent for a very difficult job.   Remember you're all competing against each other, and I can only hire the very best.   Those with the best submissions, will eventually be personally contacted.

B.G. PAINTERS

I need to see traditional skills here.  No computer, so get out your brushes and paint from the closet and let's see what you got.  Either gouache or acrylic is preferable.  For B.G.'s you can go bigger than a standard 12 field.  You can see from the sample I did that this is the standard of quality I'll be looking for.  In this case, you'll be attempting to duplicate the background from the Jonny Quest show.  You in-the-know types can probably identify the episode it's from.

MUSIC AND VOICE TALENT 

I've been impressed what's been sent in so far.  I suggest looking at the voices from Jonny Quest or Space Ghost shows.  Anyone that mimic the various incidental characters from those shows will get the most attention.  

I'll need a full audition tape with specific voices that might go well with our characters - Sundra, Nexus, or any of the other Nexus characters you can find online or in the comics.  Tell me which character each voice is meant for.

I don't currently have a script for voice overs, but if you follow our Nexus campaign at steverude.com/encyclopedia, then you can download a free 48 page origin story.  Pick your favorite scene.

You music maestros, this is one of the big ones that only the best should apply for.  Look to the dramatic scores from the original Star Trek, the music of Dom Frontiere (Outer limits/The Invaders ), and the up-tempo jazz scores from Hoyt Curtain's Jonny Quest themes.  Beyond that just be yourself and have fun.
